After nearly 15 years, Penny Arcade chief Robert Khoo calls it quits
After nearly 15 years, Penny Arcade chief Robert Khoo calls it quits
June 13, 2016 | By Alex Wawro

Longtime Penny Arcade president Robert Khoo has announced plans to step down next month, July 13th, after nearly 15 years at the company helping to oversee the rise of (among other things) PAX and Child's Play.

Both the Child's Play charity and the worldwide chain of PAX fan events were cofounded by Khoo, and have since grown to become meaningful parts of the game industry.

PAX, in particular, has expanded beyond its origins as the Penny Arcade Expo to become a year-long series of events that many developers schedule their work (and lives) around.

"It’s been an immeasurable privilege serving Penny Arcade’s audience and helping more than a million individuals come together for their love of gaming at PAX events,” stated Khoo in a press release confirming his planned departure. “I want to thank my colleagues for sharing this incredible journey and I look forward to witnessing Penny Arcade’s continued growth.”

Penny Arcade founders Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins plan to oversee Khoo's responsibilities in his absence.
