Release This:  Cave Story, Just Cause 2  Launch Stateside

Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in a custom compiled list.

This week brings Just Cause 2, Red Steel 2, and a WiiWare port of Cave Story to North America, while the UK gets Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver.

The following list covers all of the game software we know to be available -- across all platforms and regions -- for the week ending March 27th, 2010.

Avalanche Studios' sandbox-style action game Just Cause 2 will premiere in North America this week on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms. Other multiplatform offerings for this week include Capcom's motorcycle racing sim MotoGP 09/10 and the animated film tie-in title How to Train Your Dragon.

The Nintendo Wii will host Ubisoft's Wii MotionPlus-enhanced shooter Red Steel 2 and a long-awaited WiiWare port of the acclaimed PC adventure title Cave Story, while the Nintendo DS gets Atlus's first-person dungeon crawler Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey.

Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver headline the UK's upcoming Nintendo DS lineup. Red Steel 2 and Just Cause 2 will also hit retail shelves in the coming week, along with multiple RPGs, including Tri-Ace's Resonance of Fate, Hitmaker's Last Rebellion, and PlatinumGames' Infinite Space.

Koei's Fist of the North Star-themed action game Hokuto Musou premieres for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this week in Japan. The PlayStation 3 will also host a localized version of God of War III, while the Wii, PlayStation 2, and PSP get Konami's survival horror title Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.
