Online game publisher En Masse Entertainment has added several new hires, including veterans of the Halo, Mass Effect and Aion properties.
En Masse is the Seattle subsidiary of Korean studio Bluehole, which established a U.S. office to focus on localizing and marketing online games to Western consumers. It says the new talent was attracted by its showing of Tera, the studio's first MMORPG project.
New creative director Aaron LeMay was most recently senior visual designer at Bungie, overseeing outward-facing Halo 3 operations, among other projects. He's also worked with Volition as visual designer and associate producer for Saint's Row.
PR director Matt Atwood has led campaigns for Nintendo's Wii, DS Lite and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, among numerous other stints including marketing work on Dragon Age and Mass Effect for BioWare.
David Noonan, formerly managing editor of the official Magic: The Gathering magazine and a contributor to story and card design, joins as En Masse's lead writer, also bringing experience designing for Dungeons & Dragons' 4th edition release and managing the writing team for NCsoft's Aion.
Finally, Network Operations director Markus Schweig former CTO of Smith and Tinker, and is also credited with building Xbox Live's Operations Center.
"We want En Masse Entertainment to serve as a magnet for creative talent," says En Masse CEO Jae-Heon Yang. "As we build toward the launch of Tera, we are adding veteran strength to all facets of the company to ensure a topnotch Action MMO experience for our customers."
En Masse announced its formation in February of this year, boasting its lineup of industry veterans -- Yang is a former NCsoft CTO, and longtime Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo contributor Patrick Wyatt is the company's COO.
Bluehole will launch Tera in Korea this year, and En Masse will prepare it for Western markets further on. It promises "rich graphics and animations", a dynamic battle system and six races that collaborate for the good of the world.
