FMOD Audio Suite Bundles With Trinigy's Vision Engine

Trinigy, the company behind the Vision 3D game engine, said Tuesday it would add Firelight Technologies' FMOD audio suite to Vision Engine 8.

FMOD will be included for free to Vision Engine licensees. The engine, used in games including Ubisoft and Blue Byte's The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom, will still support other third-party audio solutions in addition to the FMOD Ex suite.

Both companies agreed on joint developer support for Vision and FMOD. The audio solution supports Windows, Linux, iOS, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and web browsers.

Vision and FMOD had previously been integrated, but the new agreement means developers can access all of FMOD's features directly through the Vision Engine SDK.

Other Vision partners also include Speedtree, PhysX and Havok. Trinigy U.S. CEO Danie Conradie recently told Gamasutra that the engine is targeted towards "middle to upper-level developers," and less towards indies, currently.

Privately-held Trinigy has offices in Southern Germany, Austin, TX and Seoul, South Korea. Earlier this month, the company claimed its revenues doubled year-on-year, although it did not reveal specific dollar figures.
