More: Console/PC

The Japanese sales charts seem slowly to be turning back to normal after the excitement of the holiday season, with the charts again dominated by PlayStation 2 titles. However with a paucity of new releases, as with elsewhere in the world, overall sales have been low. Even those few new releases as there have been, have performed relatively weakly with the special edition of Konami’s Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner making less impact than was expected.

In hardware sales things have also returned to a pre-Christmas norm with the PlayStation 2 leading the pack with a 45.90% market share, combined Game Boy Advance sales at 37.50%, GameCube at 14.90% (down significantly from 28.33% at the beginning of the month), Xbox at 0.95% and PS one at 0.48%.
