French publisher Gameloft's iOS MMORPG Order & Chaos has surpassed $1 million in revenue in its first 20 days on the market, the company said.

The game -- a fantasy-themed RPG often compared to Blizzard's World of Warcraft -- operates on a subscription model. Its initial $6.99 purchase price comes with a three-month subscription, with additional months available on a sliding scale.

"We knew that this first real MMORPG experience for iPhone and iPad would meet the quality standards our customers want," Gameloft senior VP of publishing Gonzague de Vallois said. "We are pleased to know that our customers have embraced our innovative business model, and we are anxious to further enrich the gaming experience with this first update, which is eagerly anticipated by our fans."

The game has an update scheduled in June that will add new quests, language-specific chat channels, and a server migration service, according to the company.

Gameloft's revenues were up 16 percent in 2010, thanks to a surge in App Store sales. This year the company, which was founded by Ubisoft co-founders Yves and Michael Guillemot, is expecting additional growth by way of Amazon's Android Appstore and connected TV games.

Good for them. That is freaking awesome! Not innovative really, but then not all money makers have to be right?
