Google has revealed that over 130 million Android devices have now been activated, while more than 550,000 are activated every day.

The company announced the figures during its second quarter earnings call, as reported by Business Insider. The 130 million figure is a 30 million increase over the numbers released in May.

It was also noted that around 550,000 Android devices are currently being activated on a daily basis.

This figure is up 50,000 from just a few weeks ago, when Google announced that 500,000 Android devices were being activated every day. It's also nearly double the number of devices that were being activated every day back in December.

Last month, market research firm Aysmco said that it had found Android developers are "less persistent" than their iOS counterparts, with the number of apps that are published but then unpublished for whatever reason being much higher for Android developers.

"the number of apps that are published but then unpublished for whatever reason being much higher for Android developers."

Um, because anyone with $20 can publish any app they write?

But then why do they unpublish them?

From what I gathet, revenue through normal sales is much more difficult on Andriod than on iOS. Maybe tey are pulling apps to re-release them as F2P.. but then again, a patch would do that also..
