Today Google+ debuted its own games platform, which will launch with 16 popular games previously made available on other social networks such as Facebook or on iOS platforms.

With this new games service, Google says it will pick and choose exactly which titles it will add, as the company hopes to follow a mantra of "quality before quantity."

The following is the initial offering of games made available on the Google+ service in alphabetical order:

- Angry Birds (Rovio)
- Bejeweled Blitz (PopCap)
- Bubble Island (wooga)
- City of Wonder (Playdom)
- Collapse! Blast (GameHouse)
- Crime City (Funzio)
- Diamond Dash (wooga)
- Dragon Age Legends (BioWare San Francisco, formerly EA2D)
- Dragons Of Atlantis (Kabam)
- Edge World (Kabam)
- Flood-It! (LabPixies)
- Monster World (wooga)
- Sudoku
- Wild Ones (Playdom)
- Zombie Lane (Digital Chocolate)
- Zynga Poker (Zynga)

Developer Funzio confirmed that its Google+ edition of Crime City will exist as a "standalone version," implying it will not interact with its Facebook counterpart. Kabam also noted that its new title Edge World will debut today on Facebook and Google+ simultaneously.

As the Google+ game platform evolves, Google says it "will continue to add new partners and new features in small steps, starting with today’s release of the games APIs to a small number of developers."

Starting today, Google+ will begin the gradual process of rolling out the games service to its users. These games will be accessible via a new button at the top of the Google+ interface.

Totally didn't guess Rivio, PopCap, or Zynga would be all over this. [/sarcasm]
