Deus Ex: Human Revolution Includes Free OnLive Version With PC Retail Purchase

August 23, 2011 | By Tom Curtis

As a bonus for consumers who buy the PC retail version of Eidos Montreal and Square Enix's Deus Ex: Human Revolution, OnLive has included full, free cloud streaming access to the game alongside the traditional disc-based version.

Within each copy of the retail PC version is a voucher to for the OnLive version of the game, meaning retail consumers can access and play the new Deus Ex on a number of OnLive-enabled devices, including HDTVs, Macs and PCs, so long as they have an internet connection.

This deal also marks the first time OnLive has included free redemption codes for a full title in a standard retail package.

Steve Perlman, president and CEO of OnLive said in a statement, "Gamers get the best of both worldsa physical copy for their home PC and an OnLive cloud gaming copy for instant-play anywhere on an HDTV, PC, Mac, and soon iPad and Android tablets."

Valve Software made a similar move earlier this year, when it included a free Steam copy of Portal 2 in every PlayStation 3 retail package, allowing users to download the title to their PC or Mac alongside their retail purchase.
