Seattle-based casual games publisher Big Fish Games announced Tuesday that it has appointment twenty-year financial and operations veteran David Stephenson as its new CFO.

Stephenson replaces Mike Vernon, who left the company in May after serving less than two years.

Prior to Big Fish, Stephenson served eleven years at Amazon.com, most recently as the VP of finance for the company's $15B North American Retail division. Prior to that he spent nine years at Proctor & Gamble.

"Big Fish has kept a low profile, and when I came to know the team and the business I was incredibly impressed, particularly with their culture and talent base, their obsessive focus on developers and customers, and their data driven decision making and operational rigor," said Stephenson in a statement. "Big Fish is a great brand with terrific opportunities ahead and I’m thrilled to be part of the team."

Big Fish has been seeing a moderate amount of success thanks to its popular hidden object games, often cracking the top ten highest grossing Apps list for both the iPod and iPad.

The company recently introduced the first hidden object game for Kindle devices, as well.
