Toronto-based mobile developer Massive Damage announced today that it has secured $325,000 in a recent funding round, which will help the company develop location-based smartphone games.

This new funding comes from Boston's Apricot Capital and Toronto's Grassfed Capital as well as angel investors Ty Danco and Shopify CEO Tobias Lutke.

Recently, Massive Damage released Please Stay Calm (pictured), a location-based zombie survival game available exclusively on the Canadian iOS App Store.

"We believe location is a powerful context for gaming. People have a strong affinity for their favorite places and our game taps into that real world connection" said Massive Damage co-founder and CEO Ken Seto. "Our early numbers indicate an extremely high level of engagement from our players, proving the market potential of location-based gaming."

The company was founded in November 2010 by brothers Ken and Garry Seto, both of whom previously founded iMockups developer Endloop Mobile.
