Kojima Productions producer Ken-ichiro Imaizumi today revealed that Shigenobu Matsuyama is no longer the producer on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

Imaizumi explained via his Twitter account that Matsuyama has moved to a different department in the company, while Yuji Korekado, production manager at the Metal Gear house, has taken his place.

"Rising producer Matsuyama has now moved to another department," he explained. "Yuji Korekado is the producer instead."

Imaizumi did not state whether Matsuyama will continue to contribute to the game in some form, or whether he has been moved completely to a different project.

Hideo Kojima originally announced Metal Gear Solid: Rising during E3 in 2009 as a canon spin-off to the main series.

He explained earlier this year during a talk at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts that the title is allowing the development team to create a game without the pressures of captaining a numeric sequel.
