Minecraft developer Mojang revealed today that it is working with the Lego Group to bring an official Minecraft Lego set to fruition.

The company revealed the news via the Lego Cuusoo website, where users can post their own ideas for future Lego sets, and then vote for concepts from other users.

Mojang said that it will work with a couple of Lego fans to shape the concept, and noted that "seeing Lego Minecraft sets is also our dream."

Organizers at the Lego Cussoo site acknowledged the new project from Mojang, adding, "We're happy to share that Mojang has caught Lego Minecraft fever."

Daniel Kaplan, Mojang business developer, further explained in a tweet, "We are working directly with Lego to make this happen."

The company plans to donate the royalties that it receives from Lego Cuusoo as part of the project to charity.

It's kind of the most direct IP lego could go for, converting the blocky world of Minecraft to blocks is pretty one-to-one.

I wonder if they'll just release a set of pixel textured standard Lego blocks :>

Just watch, they'll still include custom high-detail model-specific LEGOs.

Physical blocks pretenting to be digital blocks pretending to be physical blocks. So avant-garde.
