Newsbrief: Web gaming company Spil Games today revealed that it has seen some healthy growth for its social gaming business, and has attracted more than 170 million unique users as of December 2011.

This new figure marks an all-time high for the company, which saw roughly 40 million unique users by this same period in 2010. The company also said that the average time spent on Spil platforms increased from 12 minutes to 34 minutes over the last 12 months.

Currently, Spil Games operates numerous online game portals around the world, most of which specialize in games targeted toward young girls, teens, or families.

In July 2011, Spil Games announced that it would begin hosting games from German online games publisher Bigpoint.
