French developer and publisher Gameloft reported another quarter of growth for the October-December period, enjoying an 18 percent boost in revenues to 47 million ($61.9 million) compared to the previous year.

Gameloft attributed its "significant success" in sales and record fourth quarter to recently launched titles that replicate console-like experiences for mobile players, like Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation, Gangstar Rio: City of Saints, Six-Guns, and Dungeon Hunter 3.

The release of those titles at the end of its fiscal year also helped boost Gameloft's full-year sales by 17 percent to 164.4 million ($216.5 million). The company notes that on a constant exchange rate basis, its full-year growth was 19 percent compared to 2010's 13 percent.

It also said 30 percent of its revenues came from Europe, 29 percent from North America, and 41 percent from the rest of with world. The Parisian publisher says sales in emerging countries for its smartphone and tablet titles drove much of its growth.

The company believes the "dynamism of the smartphone and tablet market ... should continue sustaining Gameloft's growth in the upcoming quarters" -- its releases in that market saw revenues grow 64 percent year-over-year, and represent 41 percent of sales.

"In the long term, the company appears to be in an ideal position to benefit from the rapid growth of the digital distribution of video games on mobile phones, tablets, next-generation set-top boxes and smart TVs," the publisher said in a statement.
