Nintendo reveals new Brain Training , Mario Tennis Open

As part of a Nintendo Direct broadcast, company CEO Satoru Iwata revealed a selection of upcoming games for the Nintendo Wii and the DS and 3DS handhelds, including a new Brain Training title.

It's notable that Nintendo went on an announcement blitz for the 3DS today, the launch day for rival Sony's PlayStation Vita handheld, with a video from Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime also discussing new releases coming to the U.S. this year.

Nintendo is once again working with Dr. Kawashima on a Brain Training title, although the title and platform for this new release were not divulged. The training in the game was referred to as "Oni Training", or devil training, as translated by Andriasang.

Iwata also noted that the upcoming Mario Tennis installment for the 3DS is now named Mario Tennis Open, and is due for release in Japan on May 24, the U.S. on May 20, and Europe on May 25.

Fire Emblem Awakening, due for 3DS release in Japan on April 19, will have paid DLC, Nintendo confirmed. New maps and episodes will be offered for download, although Iwata noted that the main game contains the full story on its own.

Elsewhere, Iwata revealed that Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition, a Pokemon strategy game spinoff for Nintendo DS, is set for a Japanese release on March 17.

A remake of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly is on the way for Nintendo Wii, and is due to be released on June 28 in Japan with new modes and two-player support.

A teaser trailer was also shown for a crossover game from Sega, Capcom and Namco Bandai, although this was not elaborated on. A teaser website for the game is available, although it doesn't shed any light on what the game will be.
