Microsoft Touts Publisher Lineup For Next-Gen Xbox

Microsoft has released a list of developers signed on so far to create games for its next-generation system, currently without an official name. The console and its first games are due to be revealed shortly before E3 2005, a show which should also see the debut of Sony and Nintendo's next-generation machines.
Third-party developers confirmed to be working on next-generation Xbox titles, whether as part of a multiplatform development or exclusive to the system, are: 2K Games, Activision Inc., Atari, Bandai, Bethesda Softworks, Buena Vista Games., Capcom, Codemasters, Eidos, Electronic Arts, From Software, InterServe International, Koei, Konami, LucasArts, Majesco, Midway, Namco, Phantagram, Rockstar Games, SCi, Sega, Tecmo, THQ, TWP Corp., Ubisoft, Vivendi Universal Games, and Webzen.
In addition, several developers who have published games under Microsoft's first-party banner of Microsoft Game Studios also have next-generation Xbox titles in the works. Those developers include BioWare, Bizarre Creations, Bungie Studios, Epic Games Inc., FASA Studio, Lionhead Studios Ltd., and Rare Ltd. Recently created Japanese studios Mistwalker, Q?, and Game Republic also have titles in development.
It's believed that Microsoft will launch the system during the 2005 holiday season. The design, exact specifications, price point, and at least a partial launch lineup will likely come out during the E3 debut.
