O-3 Entertainment Gains New President

Officials from U.S. publisher O-3 Entertainment have announced that Chris Jelinek has been promoted to company president, following the departure of Bill Gardner.

Jelinek was previously vice president of sales and marketing and was one of the co-founders of the company, along with ex-Capcom executives Bill Gardner and Hanako Watanabe. Gardner left the company recently in order to pursue other interests.

Under the new leadership, the company, whose most significant release so far is offbeat shoot 'em-up Alien Hominid, plans to continue their strategy of forming strong relationships with independent developers and placing a greater emphasis on relationships in Japan and other Asian countries and Europe. The also has plans to expand into mobile entertainment by leveraging new technologies.

"We've had some tremendous successes over the past year in working with several independent developers and we intend to continue with that strategy," said Jelinek. "Entering our second year, we also have some exciting plans in the works concerning proprietary technologies in mobile entertainment, and we'll be ready to divulge more details about that very soon."

The company was founded with a view to seeking out titles from small and mid-size developers and providing complete publishing functions to get them to market - including sales and distribution, marketing and public relations and more operational elements like replication, warehousing and shipping.
