Lighthouse Interactive Begins Game Publishing

A number of game industry veterans have banded together to form Lighthouse Interactive, a new games publisher. The company is headquartered in Europe, with main offices in Amsterdam, Holland and a North American office in Montreal, Canada - the company indicates that it is aiming for global releases for its initially largely PC-related products.

CEO Erik Schreuder, formerly of publisher Project 3 Interactive, said of the company's founding, "The industry has gone through some rough patches over the last few years but we feel that better times are ahead and we want to be a strong part of them. I feel these are exciting times for a new company like ours. We’re very fortunate to be in this young and growing industry, being part of and hopefully impacting the culture of generations to come. Navigating entertainment, that’s our goal."

Lighthouse will, at first, focus on the PC games market, and has announced Keepsake from Wicked Studios as its first title. Keepsake is a classically styled adventure game set in a fantasy world where the game's protagonist searches to find her missing friend, with the help of a spirit guide. The game is scheduled for release in October 2005.

Beyond that, Lighthouse will publish SunAge, a realtime strategy game, and an unannounced title, both in 2006. Lighthouse hopes to expand into console titles as it expands its operations into 2006.
