Round-Up: Atlus Shrugs, Mother 3 Returns, C&C Compiled

Today's wrap-up includes news on some fresh import signings being brought to the States by Atlus, a confirmation of long-lost Nintendo-related title Mother 3, and EA's massive Command & Conquer compilation, as well as today's Gamasutra job postings.

- Atlus USA has announced the pickup of PlayStation 2 title Ponkotsu Roman Daikatsugeki Bumpy Trot, which will be released in the U.S, as Steambot Chronicles, as well as Metal Saga. Steambot Chronicles is a sandbox-style game that allows players to be either heroes or villains in a workaday world filled with mechanical robots to help with everyday tasks; the game is planned for a spring 2006 release. Metal Saga, also due in spring 2006, is a non-linear RPG which also involves use of mechs and other heavy weaponry.

- Shigesato Itoi has referenced the resurrection of Mother 3, the latest in his cult RPG franchise, on his personal website. Originally planned for release on Nintendo 64, the project died alongside the abortive 64DD peripheral, but it's now planned for release as a spring 2006 Game Boy Advance title in Japan. The two previous games in the series -- only the second of which was released in the U.S., as Earthbound -- also saw a revival as Mother 1+2 on GBA in 2003. Nintendo of America, however, has never announced any plans to bring the games over to the U.S. in portable form.

- Electronic Arts has announced Command & Conquer: The First Decade, a compilation of games from its classic real-time strategy series. The set includes the original Command & Conquer, as well as expansions and spinoffs The Covert Operations, Red Alert, Red Alert: The Aftermath, Red Alert: Counterstrike, Tiberian Sun, Tiberian Sun: Firestorm, Red Alert 2, Yuri's Revenge, Renegade, Generals, and Generals: Zero Hour. In addition to the games, the collector's edition will include a bonus DVD with video features on the series' history. Command & Conquer: The First Decade is set to be released in February 2006.

- Also updated today: the latest Gamasutra job postings, including new positions from Amaze Entertainment, Blizzard Entertainment, Datascope Recruitment, Emergent Game Technologies, LucasArts, Replay Solutions, Rockstar San Diego, Stormfront Studios, Super Happy Fun Fun, and Tilted Mill Entertainment.
