Developer Vicious Cycle Announces New Division

Representatives from North Carolina developer Vicious Cycle have announced the creation of a new division of the company, named Monkey Bar Games. The primary focus of the new division will be to develop games based on popular mass-market licenses for multiple publishers.
Based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Vicious Cycle is already responsible for a number of games based on licensed properties including Robotech, Spy vs. Spy and Dinotopia. The company is also the developer of the Vicious Engine – a fully portable middleware solution for current generation consoles, PC, and recently announced for the PSP.
"Monkey Bar Games is a continuation of our efforts to diversify our business in new areas," said Eric Peterson, president of Vicious Cycle. "We are excited to produce high quality games that will be viable across all interest groups and age demographics."
Monkey Bar Games has already worked on Dora the Explorer: Journey to the Purple Planet for Global Star/Take-Two and will also be developing games based on the film Curious George for Namco, with a third game planned for release next autumn.
