Making History 'Serious Game' Jumps From Schools To Homes

Educational game developer Muzzy Lane Software today announced the availability of its 'serious game' PC title Making History, previously available for schoollearning use, for the consumer market.

The game, a detailed World War II simulation that puts players in the roles of world leaders such as Churchill, Stalin and Roosevelt, was formerly available exclusively to educators. Today's announcement marks Muzzy Lane's first venture into the consumer space.

"Consumers are looking for something intelligent and challenging to do with their game systems," Muzzy Lane Vice President Nick deKanter said. "The home version of Making History fills that void, providing the adrenaline rush that gamers want with the political, diplomatic and economic challenges you don’t see in typical shoot-em-up games."

"No decision can be made in a vacuum, and no action occurs without a consequence," he continued. "That’s a life lesson not just a history lesson, which is why the game has become so popular in high schools and colleges."

Making History offers both single and multiplayer modes, and scenarios for the game include 'Munich: The Politics of Appeasement', 'The End Of Diplomacy', and 'Steps to a Global War'. The title is available for purchase at the official Making History website.
