Round-Up: John Malkovich, Solid Snake, and the Future of Xbox 360 Adverts

Today's round-up includes news on John Malkovich's clothes, a new Metal Gear Solid, and an interactive advertisement on the Xbox 360, as well as the latest GameSetWatch posts and Gamasutra job postings.

- Activision has announced that players of Lionhead/Activision's The Movies will be able to download clothing from John Malkovich's "Uncle Kimono" line. The clothing can be downloaded for in-game use via the game's official site, starting in January, at the expense of "virtual credits" earned by uploading user-created content. Specific articles of clothing have not been revealed, but those eager for a sneak peak can take a gander at Malkovich's official site, and even get a 40% off coupon. For the real-life clothing, that is.

- The latest issue of Famitsu features an interview with Hideo Kojima, designer of Snatcher, Zone of the Enders, and the infinitely popular Metal Gear series, about what lies ahead for his newly-founded studio, Kojima Productions. Most interestingly, according to a translation by consumer site IGN, Kojima revealed that a new Metal Gear Solid - yes, Solid, not Ac!d - is in the works for Sony's PlayStation Portable. Details are scarce and practically nonexistant, though Kojima claims that the game is "something that can only be done on the PSP."

- A new television advertisement for the Xbox 360, being shown via the UK-based satellite TV series Sky TV, contains interactive content and a number of hidden "easter eggs." By pressing the red "Interactive" button on the Sky digital remote, player/viewers can interact with the commercial, unlocking additional content and game previews. Control is mainly limited to spelling out words on the screen via the remote's keypad. Those with high scores can even get their gamer tag posted on the advertisement itself!

-New posts today on Gamasutra sister weblog GameSetWatch include a look at the wacky characters of Neo Geo Coliseum, a Grumpy Gamer who just wants some funding for Christmas, and what may be the world's first blog dedicated to reviewing games for the 3DO console.

-Also updated today, the latest Gamasutra job postings, including positions from Blizzard Entertainment, Concrete Games, High Impact Games, Point of View, The Collective, THQ, and Visual Concepts.
