IEMA/VSDA Hire Spencer As Federal Game Lobbyist

The Interactive Entertainment Merchants Association and Video Software Dealers Association, the two main trade groups of the retail side of the video game industry, have contracted Stuart Spencer as a lobbyist to represent their interests before Congress and other federal agencies.

Spencer's experience as a lobbyist comes from his founding role in the Stanton Park Group, where he also served as principal and general counsel. While at Stanton Park, Spencer represented several technology and health care clients. Prior to that, Spencer was a staffer for Rep. Louise Slaughter from 1996 to 2003, where he eventually became the House member's chief of staff.

"We are very pleased to have an individual of Stuart's caliber representing us in Washington," said IEMA President Hal Halpin. "He brings an impressive breadth of experience, knowledge of the Hill, and understanding of the legislative process to the position."

"This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic industry," Spencer stated. "Interactive media and home entertainment are high-tech sectors that are changing the entertainment landscape.
