U.S. January PC Game Charts Continue WoW Domination

The first month of the new year sees an older game still on top of the U.S. PC sales charts, with World of Warcraft still selling strong even 14 months after its introduction; the recent announcement of The Burning Crusade, its first expansion, may have helped propel sales higher.

There were no new entries on the conservative chart, due to the chart measuring a period immediately after the busiest new release season of the previous year. Two games re-entering the top 10 were Battlefield 2, which also saw an expansion boost its sales, and Zoo Tycoon 2.

The overall winner on the chart is Electronic Arts, which had both Battlefield 2 titles on the list as well as The Sims 2 and its Nightlife expansion. Second place was Microsoft, with Zoo Tycoon as well as Civilization IV up in fourth place.
