Namco Bandai Confirms Ridge Racer 7 , Tekken 6 for E3

Namco Bandai Games America has announced the titles it will feature during next week's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.

The company confirmed that it will unveil Ridge Racer 7 and Tekken 6, both of which are in development for Sony's upcoming PlayStation 3 platform. Ridge Racer 7 is being headed by Hideo Teramoto and Masaya Koyabashi, both veterans of the series, and will be set in the year 2010, with over 200 cars available to drive. Namco plans to include multiplayer options allowing for at least 16 players in one race.

In addition, Namco Bandai is developing Mobile Ops: The One Year War for the Xbox 360, which is based within the popular Gundam universe. The game will allow players to take on the role of a soldier who fights on foot, in vehicles, and from within in a wide array of mecha, both alone or online via Xbox Live.

Also confirmed for E3 is the next iteration in the popular card-battling game Culdcept. While not as well known outside of Japan, the series's first iteration for the Xbox 360 will allow players to take the card battles online, a move that will no doubt broaden the franchise appeal. The series' latest installment is being developed by Omiya Soft, which also developed the Saturn and PlayStation 2 versions of Culdcept, as well as Culdcept Second for the Dreamcast.

"As a recently integrated company, Namco Bandai is excited to demonstrate our new publishing strength within the industry by unveiling our next generation line-up at E3 2006," said Genichi Ito, president and CEO of Namco Bandai Games America Inc. "We are looking forward to supporting the next generation of consoles and being at the forefront of delivering quality content for all gamers to enjoy."
