Namco has released its overall results for fiscal year 2005, a period ending March 31st, 2005. The yearly revenue was up 3.5 percent compared to fiscal year 2004, with a 2005 take of 178 billion yen ($1.65 billion USD) over 2004's $172 billion yen ($1.59 billion USD), while the net profit of 9.46 billion yen ($87.8 million USD) took a sharper upswing, improving 25% over 2004's net profit of 7.54 billion yen ($69.9 million USD).

Both Namco's arcade and home console divisions did well despite an uncertain outlook at the start of the year. Tekken was a hit across all divisions, with both the arcade and home versions of Tekken 5 doing brisk business, and similarly high returns stemming from Tekken Pachislot. Also successful on home consoles were Tales of Rebirth, Ace Combat 5, and new Xenosaga and Tales games in the U.S.

Not directly mentioned in the financial report due to its occurrence after the end of the fiscal year was Namco's recent merger with Bandai, which will be a large factor in the fiscal year to come for Namco.
