RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - November 13, 2012 -
Totmob, a division of Kinetics, has announced the launch of the
TotRacer Grand Prix Competition. To celebrate the
last race in the 2012 Formula 1 calendar, Totmob is announcing the
launch of a competition based on one of their most popular games.
The competition will be available for up to 10,000 participants,
and will give away up to 20 Xbox 360s as prizes. As a racing game
available on Google Play,
TotRacer is very addictive and yet very simple to play. To
control the car the player just turns his device like a driving
wheel. The game, however, is complex enough to make it very hard to
be a top racer. The levels within the game are progressive,
allowing players of different standards to enjoy themselves.
The
TotRacer Grand Prix championship will take place on a
virtual version of the
Interlagos race track, the very same circuit as used in
the last leg of the 2012 Formula 1 Championship. To take part, each
participant has to buy the Starter Pack of Tokens, and start
posting times, to try to climb all the way to the top places of the
Competition's Online Ranking!
“We've been running online competitions since 2003,”
says Marcelo Cunha “ and this one will have a new format.
We've created a ranking system with a progressive prize structure,
where the more people play, the more prizes get given out - we'll
be giving lots of Xbox 360s, currently one of the most desirable
game consoles. With this format players of different levels will
have a real chance to win a prize. The
TotRacer Grand Prix will take place at the same time as
the final race of the 2012 F1 Championship, on a 3D version of the
same Interlagos track.”
Competition Format:
The progressive ranking prize structure of the championship will
start out giving an Xbox 360 to the player ranked number 1, the
player ranked 500th gets the second Xbox 360, the 1000th gets the
third, and so on, until the number of 10,000 participants, so that
a total of 20 Xbox 360s have been given out. To post an initial
time on the ranking competitors will have to complete a three lap
time trial, after which they will have at least five more
opportunities to improve their times. Each participant starts with
a pack with 6 tokens (the Starter Pack). Each token allows the
player to race a three lap timed session. Once ranked, competitors
can start a thrilling climb up the standings by racing against the
car ranked one step above them.
