[This unedited press release is made available courtesy of Gamasutra and its partnership with notable game PR-related resource GamesPress.]

Jagex, Europe’s largest independent games studio, today unveiled the latest DLC for their popular creative shooter, Ace of Spades.

Launching later today for free, the Classic Mode DLC seeks to evoke memories of the alpha build of Ace of Spades by incorporating many popular elements from the original version of the game.

Classic Mode features a host of gameplay features, maps and experiences based on the classic version of the game. Styled in the theme of the two World Wars, the DLC offers players the chance to capitalise on the slower pace of gameplay to show off their tactical strategies.  Armed with a range of basic weapons, players will take on the Capture the Flag game mode reminiscent of the original Ace of Spades alpha and be able to choose from as a selction of new maps designed specifically with Classic Mode in mind, one of which has been designed by the Ace of Spades Community.

The full details of the Classic Mode free DLC are:

·         Classic Specific Class

Deuce Character Class – An updated version of the single character class which featured in the Classic version of the game.

·         New Maps

5 new battle maps including a community created map.

·         Traditional Gameplay

In a nostalgic nod to the original game, the Classic Mode DLC brings back classic game modes and the trench warfare theme.

·         New Strategy Focus

Slower gameplay and manoeuvrability gives tactical strategists a chance to shine and beat their opponents into submission.

Since its launch on Steam last month, Ace of Spades has firmly cemented itself as one of the most popular Steam titles, featuring in the top 3 games under £7 since launch and has enjoyed over 3 weeks in the global top 10 list.

Ace of Spades is available to download on Steam for £6.99.
