Based on the Finnish national epic Kalevala, Heroes of Kalevala offers a unique casual puzzle game experience. The main gameplay consists of match-three puzzle action with spectacular powerups in the form of bombs and Heroes, frozen and locked tiles, and vile, ever spreading tar, among other things. The metagame offers a light village building simulation with direct ties to the puzzle gameplay, as well as an exciting, fully voiced over storyline.
