On 5, the creators of the award winning games Draw Mania
(Charadium) and Spice Bandits, are presenting a new experiment in
the social game genre, called Indie Pixel. A fun and addicting
game, putting players into the life of a pixel.
In the game, the player assumes the role of a simple pixel and
have to work with other players to form all kinds of different
shapes. The more players there are, the more complex shapes are
given. With every correct formation, players are rewarded with
points and open a part of a unique background. The ultimate goal is
to have every background unlocked. It's a simple goal made
difficult by having almost no means of communication.
That is the experimental part - how people manage to work
together without any words spoken and achieve the result that they
are aiming for. It's a situation where rewards are given out for
being in a group and trying to understand what others are going to
do. Collaboration is essential.
Everyone is a pixel and have the same role but that doesn't
mean that they can't stand out. Player can customize their pixel
using many different clothing items. There are so many, that
everyone can come up with an original combination and stand out
from the rest. Want to put on a green cap, blue shoes and huge
glasses? You can!
There are also 9 different power-up that spice up the gameplay.
Players can become four times bigger, eat others or steal points
them. They all make the gameplay a bit more dynamic and even
slightly chaotic at times.
Indie Pixel is out on all iOS devices on August 22nd and is
free, with optional in-app purchases.
