[This unedited press release is made available courtesy of Gamasutra and its partnership with notable game PR-related resource GamesPress.]

Brighton, UK, September 3rd, 2013 – Relentless Software® announced today the worldwide release of Murder Files for Google Chrome, available for download through the Chrome Web Store. Revered for the multi-million selling Buzz!™ franchise and the award-winning Kinect Nat Geo TV the developer delivers on bringing the British murder mystery title to the #1 web browser.

Murder Files is set in the quintessentially English village of Little Riddle where murder is in the air. As one of the famous Blue Toad detectives you solve puzzles, interrogate suspects, use your powers of observation and investigate clues to uncover the strange goings on.

Find out whodunnit in the #1 murder mystery game - now available from the Chrome Web Store.

Murder Files contains six episodes filled with murders and mystery. Players can enjoy the first hour-long episode for free, after which they can unlock the rest of the game for $2.99 / €2.69 / £1.99.

Powered by Google’s Native Client technology the game has been beautifully remastered as a Chrome Packaged App for Windows and Chrome OS (with OS X support coming in the next release of Chrome). Chrome Apps work both offline and online and deliver experiences as powerful as native apps without requiring the user to install any plug-ins. Additionally the game supports intuitive touch screen controls for devices such as the Chromebook Pixel. "Our studio has a proven track record of creating great games that everyone can play,” said Martijn van der Meulen, Product Lead at Relentless Software. “ Murder Files now takes that one step further by becoming available on one of the most accessible platforms ever: Google Chrome. We are redefining the methods for bringing our self-published games to millions of new players. This is a very exciting moment for all of us.”

For further information please have a look at the official YouTube trailer or download the game from the Chrome Web Store.

About Relentless Software

Relentless Software makes games for everyone. Founded in 2003 to take advantage of the breakout success of Sony’s PlayStation 2, Relentless has always been at the forefront of where games-capable technology crosses over with mass market availability.

In 2005, Relentless released its first Buzz!™ game which revolutionised quiz games on console by introducing simplified buzzer controllers and entertaining gamers and non-gamers alike. Buzz!™ won a BAFTA in 2006 and was one of Sony’s biggest sellers from 2005 onwards.

As the games industry has seen a shift from console gaming to mobile and digital self-publishing, Relentless has also succeeded with Murder Files, first published in 2009 on PSN and subsequently becoming a bestseller on both the iOS and Amazon Kindle Fire charts.

Relentless remains a leader in bringing video games entertainment to non-gamer audiences and is based in a thriving creative tech hub centred in Brighton, UK.
