FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

18 September 2013 - UK

The indie game developer group Best of British has rebranded as Full Indie UK. To coincide with this the group is planning a fresh wave of public events to help UK indie developers connect and collaborate.

Full Indie UK is a group of indie game developers who have teamed up to share knowledge and experience. The group also engages in cross-promotion, and writes a regular column for PocketGamer.biz. It is open to any independent developers working in the UK, who have released a game or who are close to shipping a game.

Full Indie UK now plans to run a range of networking events across the UK. The next event will be in Birmingham in October, and will involve a range of speakers and a group dinner in a local pub.

The group was founded in 2012 to help indie developers to collaborate on promotion, build connections and share business experience. Since then the group has co-developed two minigame bundles for iOS, run three game jams and hosted a successful developer meetup in Bristol, with speakers including Cliff Harris, Puppy Games' Caspian Prince, and the group’s original founder Will Luton.

Full Indie UK is now managed by Jake Birkett of Grey Alien Games, who co-founded the Full Indie organisation in Vancouver, Canada. Other members include Byron Atkinson-Jones (Xiotex Studios), Andrew J Smith (Spilt Milk Studios) and Simon Barratt (Four Door Lemon).

"Full Indie in Vancouver has become a huge group with great members and fantastic events,” said the group’s leader Jake Birkett. “I'm looking forward to growing Full Indie UK in a similar manner with the help of a core team of volunteers."

Reflecting on the handover the new leadership, founder and original ‘chief BoBee’ Will Luton said “I'm very proud of what Best of British has achieved in it's years, especially having launched two great apps and supported hit games through development.

“And as with any successful organisation there comes a time when the big boys take notice. I'm very pleased that Jake is taking on BoB for the Full Indie brand and have already seen him put great efforts to shape great new things. The future is very bright for the group and its members."
