Hamburg, September 24, 2013. Today, Forge of Empires introduced new bonus content for its Early Middle Ages period, containing a large quest series dispatching players to far off mountains, fighting renegade barbarians led by Bogdan the Beast and bringing General Celeas to his knees. In the course of this campaign, players will be fighting brand new units, such as the Beserker. Upon successful completion of the mission, a significant reward awaits.

In order to conquer the rebellious provinces with its 23 sectors in the series, players must first free the mysterious “Dunkelwald” region. After this, quest giver Hasdrubaal Barkasm asks for help in an impending mountain battle against the barbarians. Even users in further ages of the title can revisit the period to complete the tasks.

Update version 1.10 also brings Forge of Empires closer to its iPad release in the coming weeks, with iPhone following shortly after. In 2014, InnoGames plans to bring the game to Android devices.

Forge of Empires is a browser-based strategy game, where players, tasked with leading their own city to prosperity can research new technologies, build impressive historical buildings and enlarge their sphere of influence through military campaigns and skillful dealing. The game has recently been awarded the title of “Best Browser Game 2013” at the German Computer Game Award (Deutscher Computerspielpreis).

With about 100 million registered players, InnoGames is one of the world's leading developers and providers of online games. The Hamburg-based company has scored major successes with games such as Tribal Wars, The West and Grepolis.
