Drawn by Clouds announces Fall Schematic Game App
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PLACERVILLE, CA – 02/10/2014
Drawn by Clouds announces the upcoming launch of a Kickstarter campaign to fund their debut title Fall Schematic, a vibrant RPG for mobile devices and a cooperative card game being developed in partnership with Wyrd Minatures. Drawn by Clouds and Wyrd are announcing the start date for the Fall Schematic Kickstarter campaign as beginning early this March.
Fall Schematic is set in a vibrant techpunk universe with rich sci fi and anime themes. The creators bring the stories of Fall Schematic across both digital and physical mediums to depict the two different aspects of life on the world, Hana. The people have shed their organic bodies to become completely virtual. The mobile app represents the virtual aspect of ‘life’ in the city networks where they program for survival and the cooperative card game represents the physical use of salvaged machines in an attempt to reclaim the ruined surface of their planet. In both mediums humanity has united against the Glitch, a spontaneous AI entity, that threatens their existence. Both games stand alone but are able to interact in creative ways if played together. If the people of Hana are to survive, the Glitch must be stopped on both fronts.
“We are bringing something different to the apps market and adding a new dimension to cooperative card games with Fall Schematic.” said Matt Anderson, co-owner of Drawn by Clouds and creative lead on Fall Schematic. “The game is ambitious, but even so, we've managed to pull most of it together for a game that is already functional at the bare bones. We're Kickstarting it to ensure that both offerings get the treatment they deserve, but also to connect with gamers and ensure the games we make are the games they want to play.”
Wyrd Miniatures brings to the project their seasoned team of game developers responsible for the miniature skirmish game Malifaux, and table games The World Needs an Evil Baby Orphanage, The World Needs a Jet Pack Unicorn, Showdown: Icons and Kings of Artifice. “We are eager to see table gaming take full advantage of quick reader technology.” said Eric Johns, co-owner and creative director of Wyrd Miniatures. “This project is interesting to us because players can use it to enhance gameplay or they can never pull a phone out at all and still have a perfectly balanced, fun cooperative game.”
The team announces both games, ideally flush with rich art and tons of extras and bonuses from the Kickstarter, with a first quarter 2015 release. The game app for Fall Schematic will release to mobile stores and may be ported to other platforms dependent upon the outcome of the Kickstarter. The cooperative card game will be on shelves in LGSs as well as online.
