OPERATION SUPPLY DROP BOOSTS ITS LEADERSHIP RANKS

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 8, 2014) – Military-focused video game charity Operation Supply Drop today announced it has created a board of advisors composed of leaders in the video games industry and former military personnel to support its rapid expansion and increase the total number of charitable activities it pursues. Operation Supply Drop has also named Glenn “Commander” Banton, Sr. as Chairman of the Board. In addition to his current role as the organization’s Chief Marketing Officer, Banton will oversee the Board of Advisors and focus on expanded outreach as well as business and partnership development on behalf of Operation Supply Drop.
“When we began Operation Supply Drop, I never imagined we would grow at such a rapid pace,” said Stephen “Shanghai Six” Machuga, Operation Supply Drop’s founder. “With the addition of this distinguished team that includes military veterans and experienced video game industry leaders, we will be able to exponentially extend our level of support to troops around the globe.”
Operation Supply Drop’s roster of board members and advisors includes:
Mark Christianson, Executive Editor of Off Duty Gamers and former U.S. Army Paratrooper (82nd Airborne Division), he also served as Secretary and Chairman of the 82nd Airborne Association's Chicago chapter.
Mario Kroll, long-time video game marketing and PR executive, owner of video game industry consultancy UberStrategist, founder of Wargamer.com and former NCO in the U.S. Army JAG Corps
Jason Schauble, currently Chief Revenue Officer at Silencerco and former executive at TrackingPoint and Remington, he was a founding member of United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC), charged with building their special operations capabilities from scratch in 2006. Jason served as a U.S. Marine infantry NCO, officer and Force Recon taskforce commander in Iraq, receiving the Silver Star, a Bronze Star with combat distinguishing device and a Purple Heart

The board’s role is to identify and pursue suitable partnerships and awareness-building opportunities, as well as promote the organization’s overall initiatives, including its upcoming “8-Bit Salute,” a 24-hour gaming marathon with a goal of raising $1 million (USD) to continue its morale-boosting missions.The third annual 8-Bit Salute will take place May 17-18, 2014.
