No. 06 / April 2014

gamescom opens ticket shop

•             Advanced ticket sales begin: Purchase tickets for the gamescom 2014 at www.gamescom-cologne.com and print them out straight away.

•             Admission tickets are up to 25 percent cheaper in the presales phase

•             New payment methods

The long wait has finally come to an end: The gamescom ticket shop is open immediately to everyone. And as in the previous years, the same applies for the ticket purchase: Be quick, secure your tickets, profit from the attractive presales prices and be there when the world's biggest event for interactive entertainment opens its doors in Cologne in August. After an exceptional gamescom 2013, which recorded over 340,000 visitors and more than 635 exhibitors, the visitors can once again look forward to countless renowned industry key players from 13 to 17 August 2014. Among others Bethesda, Bigpoint, Crytek, Deep Silver/Koch Media, Electronic Arts, Konami, Microsoft, Nintendo, NVIDIA, Riot Games, ROCCAT, Turtle Entertainment, Ubisoft and Wargaming have already confirmed their participation at the gamescom 2014. In the light of the first-class line-up of exhibitors and the numerous novelties they are expected to present, the organisers are once again awaiting high attendance figures this year. Interested trade and private visitors can purchase and print out tickets now at www.gamescom-cologne.com. The tickets can exclusively be paid for by PayPal or credit card. The tickets are also valid for a free journey with the public transport vehicles of the Rhine-Sieg Transport Network (VRS) and the Rhine-Ruhr Transport Network (VRR).

Presales of day tickets: (Only) while stocks last

In order to make sure the gamescom visitors' stay at the Cologne fair grounds is as pleasant as possible, the following once again applies in 2014: Advanced sale day tickets are only available as long as stocks last. Accordingly, day tickets will only be sold at the ticket office, if they have not already sold out in advance.

During the gamescom 2013, all of the day tickets were completely sold-out during the presales phase. People, who secure their tickets during the presales, not only profit from a discount of up to 25 percent, thanks to our optimised admission management they will also be able to enter the fair via an exclusive entrance for private visitors (Hall 11).

Quota of family tickets via KölnTicket

A quota of "family tickets" for the gamescom 2014 is also being exclusively offered for families. It targets parents and their children aged between 7 and 11 years (valid for a maximum of five people). The family tickets are exclusively offered during the presales phase and only as long as stocks last. Interested parties can purchase this admission ticket in the form of vouchers exclusively via KölnTicket, they are not available in the gamescom online ticket shop. The tickets are issued at the gamescom after the family composition has been checked. To make sure the admission process is as stress-free as possible and to allow direct access to the exhibits in Hall 10 that are especially suitable for families, we recommend families to use the South Entrance.

New payment methods for online ticket purchases

It is possible to purchase tickets from the gamescom online shop using credit cards and PayPal. Both payment methods are uncomplicated and flexible. Payment by direct debit is no longer possible. These two payment methods correspond with the forms of payment most commonly used by the target group.

As in past years, the admission tickets for the gamescom are also valid for free second-class travel on the public transport vehicles of the Rhine-Sieg Transport Network (VRS) and the Rhine-Ruhr Transport Network (VRR).
