The big, annual contest for indie developers – WGK Developers Showcase - details revealed!

Important event during this year WGK conference will be WGK Developers Showcase. The annual contest for independent game developers, where teams can submit their games and win valuable prizes.

The event will take place between September 6 th and 7 th in Gdansk, Poland. It will be a chance for independent game developers from around the world to demonstrate their games to the public, gather first feedback from game industry professionals and media and start building awareness about their games.

WGK Developers Showcase 2013 was the first time the prototype of the SUPERHOT game, as we know it today, was shown to the public. The team behind it won WGK’s Grand Prix back then and this was the first milestone in their highly successful way of building community around the game. The prize brought them attention of game industry professionals, gamers and media allowing them a year later to build an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign for the title and start cooperation with the game industry veteran Cliff Bleszinski.

Now other ambitious, independent developers from around the world are invited to try their luck and repeat SUPERHOT’s success. Submissions including:

·         Game description

·         A pack of screenshots

·         A gameplay video

Should be sent at indie@wgk.gd no later than August 15 th 2014.

Projects that will pass first eliminations will be later on announced  on WGK’s official Facebook profile.

All teams submitting their games will be fighting for two awards: Jury Award and Audience Award, 5,000 PLN (around 1,600 USD) each.

Final results will be announced during WGK conference in Gdansk, Poland, between the 6 th and 7 th of September this year.

About WGK

World of Gamedev Knowledge conference is an annual event taking place in Gdansk, Poland. This year game industry professionals from all over the world will meet between September 6th and 7th in the modern AmberExpo convention center to discuss game design, case studies, tech, business development, publishing PR and marketing and everything in between.
