Cambridge, UK (August 1, 2017)—UK-based games developer PlayFusion, are delighted to announce the full UK retail launch of Lightseekers. Beginning today, Lightseekers smart action figures, trading cards, accessories will be available in all Toys“R”Us® stores nationwide. 

Lightseekers, the critically-acclaimed action adventure role-playing game from PlayFusion, is far more than just a game; it’s the fusion of fantasy and reality powered by a proprietary technology platform. Integrating video games, smart action figures with artificial intelligence, augmented reality, interactive trading cards and more, Lightseekers creates the most ambitious transmedia entertainment platform ever envisioned.

Lightseekers, a story-rich action adventure RPG (role playing game), is available now to download entirely free on the Apple Appstore, Google Play, and Amazon App Store. The FusionCore, the high-tech, powerful mini-computer embedded within each action figure and the “brains” behind the smart connected figures, completely eliminates the need for cumbersome NFC portals, delivering real time 2-way interaction between TOMY’s 7” articulated smart action figures and the Lightseekers game.

Lightseekers also offers interchangeable accessories that level up as you play. Equipping a weapon or accessory onto a smart action figure will have an immediate effect in the game and vice versa, opening up new abilities and adventures. In addition, flight packs can be added to any hero, allowing players to magically control their in-game character simply by moving their smart action figure.

A crucial piece to the transmedia universe is the standalone physical trading card game, with 385+ cards at launch that features a unique card rotation mechanic and powerful combo cards. Each card, when scanned by the Lightseekers game, also delivers immersive augmented reality experiences, rewards game players and unlocks powerful in-game abilities.

The digital game, physical trading cards and smart action figures can each be enjoyed independently of one another, but when played together deliver an even more powerful gaming experience.
