LOS ANGELES — WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2018 — Easy Day Studios, an independent developer of extreme sports games, today announced its new skateboarding game, Skater XL, has launched for PC on Steam Early Access. With an emphasis on board control and freedom of expression, the team has worked closely with the skateboarding community to capture the feel and experience of skateboarding to make

it accessible for anyone with a passion for skateboarding culture and/or game genre.

Skater XL Early Access can be downloaded on Steam starting today for $19.99 USD.

Skater XL has been designed with the smoothest, most responsive gameplay ever felt in a skateboarding game. With new ground-breaking and intuitive controls, skateboarding in a video game has never felt more authentic, fluid, and responsive. Players can style tricks any way they want and make every trick and line their own. Skater builds upon the strong foundations of previous key titles and moves the genre a giant leap forward towards completely expressive play.

The Early Access includes one initial character, the iconic real-world skate spot, The West Los Angeles Courthouse, and video tutorials. Future features will include video editing, additional skaters with character customization, additional skate spots inspired by real-world west coast locations, online multi-play and possibly DLC or modded user-generated content. The full version is slated for release late in 2019 following additional development and feedback from players and the skate community.

“It’s very important for us to engage with the community moving forward,” said Dain Hedgpeth, director and co-founder of Easy Day Studios. “Careful consideration, interpretation and prioritization of feedback is what will help us take the developed core of the game and expand it into a thriving online culture and pass-time that is fun and accessible for (non-gaming) skaters, gamers, and fans of the culture; respecting both the skate gaming and core skateboarding communities.”

For additional information or to purchase Early Access, please visit the Skater XL Steam page.
