[This unedited press release is made available courtesy of Gamasutra and its partnership with notable game PR-related resource GamesPress.]

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, today announced Relentless Software is rejoining TIGA.

Brighton-based Relentless Software is the studio behind the award winning Buzz!™ quiz franchise. Relentless also recently self-published and released ‘Blue Toad Murder Files™’ for the PlayStation Network.

Andrew Eades, Executive Director at Relentless Software explains the company’s reasons for rejoining TIGA:

“Relentless has always been a strong supporter of the UK games industry and recognises the recent steps forward that TIGA has made in establishing a dialogue with Government.

“For me the most important thing TIGA can do is continue to engage with Government and media to ensure we communicate an honest and positive message about our great industry and the creative leadership we show in the UK. We make fantastic games with very talented people here in the UK as well as creating revenue and wealth for the nation.

“Games are a positive force and I hope that we can work closely with the Government to create a better environment for game developers in the UK and for UK business generally.”

Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO stated:

“Relentless Software is a highly successful and renowned development studio here in the UK. The games they create including Buzz!™: Quiz World and Buzz!™: The Schools Quiz, are fantastic examples of the educational and social value of games. We are thrilled that Relentless has decided to rejoin TIGA and look forward to working closely with the team to promote the industry to Parliament and the media.”

About TIGA:

TIGA is the trade association representing the UK’s games industry. The majority of our members are either independent games developers or in-house publisher owned developers. We also have outsourcing companies, technology businesses and universities amongst our membership.

TIGA's vision is to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business. We focus on three sets of activities: political representation, generating media coverage and developing services that enhance the competitiveness of our members. This means that TIGA members are effectively represented in the corridors of power, their voice is heard in the media and they receive benefits that make a material difference to their businesses, including a reduction in costs and improved commercial opportunities.
