El Segundo, Calif. – March 9, 2010 – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today announced the availability of Foto Showdown, the company’s first Nintendo DSi™ release in North America. In the action-packed RPG title, players can take advantage of the Nintendo DSi’s camera feature to snap their own photos and incorporate them directly into gameplay.

In Foto Showdown, players of all ages can spawn monsters using advanced color recognition based on dominant colors from photos taken by the players themselves. Putting the powers of each unique monster to the test, players compete with their rivals during turn-based duels. While progressing through more than 70 levels and winning tournaments, gamers will be able to upgrade their powers and purchase additional weapons, medicines and tools in order to successfully battle their duelist opponent.

“With Foto Showdown’s unique DSi camera use, the player’s overall experience greatly depends on the their imagination and individual use of the game’s capabilities, adding lasting appeal and replay value,” said David Daniels, Marketing Director for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “By taking full advantage of the Nintendo DSi’s functionality, Konami has enabled users to tap into their creativity and play a more active role in shaping their gameplay.”

With the ability to collect up to 152 different monsters, gamers can fight up to six monsters simultaneously to become stronger and win their battles and tournaments. Players can also compete to win three kinds of cameras that open up new monsters and levels in the game. As additional monsters are collected, players are able to buy or sell monsters and purchase an array of upgrades in order to turn their collection into the ultimate force of destruction. As an added bonus, local wireless connections allow players to swap battle-hardened monsters from their decks and unleash multiplayer face-offs.

Foto Showdown is now available exclusively for Nintendo DSi™ nationwide. For assets, please visit www.konami.com/downloads.
