After predominantly focusing on the PC market LMG have as
promised made their first steps into multi platform in 2010 with
the announcement of The Pit: Dog Eat Dog, a Freedom Factory Studios
development.
LMG have acquired PAL rights for the multi platform game and
anticipation is growing within the LMG team and other global
publishers for the expected uptake of the game. The title is due to
be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC early 2011.
Jason Codd from LMG on the signing of the title
and his expectation:
“ We are delighted to be working with Freedom Factory
Studios on this project, they have show from the start of our
discussions that they are very talented and dedicated team and we
are looking forward to bringing “The Pit: Dog Eat Dog”
to PAL territories on multi formats. We have said from the day we
joined forces with Lace International that we would look at
acquiring multi format, next generation projects and we have done
that. There is a lot more to come from us as a group, but this is a
great product to get our teeth into”.
Carlos Mateos, Sales Director at Freedom Factory
Studios:
“We are very happy with the joint venture with LMG and are
positive that this is the start of a long term working
relationship. Within the current climate in the gaming industry it
is very important to continue to generate great concepts and
revolutionary titles – something that freedom factory is
focused on. LMG have seen the potential in our title
–“The Pit” and we totally trust their work and
focus to make “The Pit” a very successful game in
2011!”
About the game:
“Several years after the last world conflict, which almost
erased all the traces of humanity, civilization has collapsed, and
a cruel and brutal society in which only the fittest survive has
emerged. In this inhuman world, in which each region of the earth
is ruled by a different clan, ancient traditions and rituals have
risen. Now, a clan’s glory is measured by only one thing: his
giant combat domes and the strength of his warriors.
In the fashion of the Roman Empire, there are combat arenas all
around the world, called Pits. In there, slaves, gold-thirsty
soldiers of fortune, ruthless mercenaries and professional fighters
searching for the glory in battle fight until they win or
die”.
Continued:
“The Pit” is a third person Hack n Slash game with
an original new generation approach to gaming. The game is set in a
post-apocalyptic era and is heavily focused towards arena fighting
which takes place in a classic death trapped roman gladiator
setting.
The player incarnates a fighter who risks their life in
gladiatorial games, battling against merciless blood-thirsty
adversaries, using skills trees and combat tactics the gamer must
defend their honour and fight to the death. Aided by the vast
collection of post apocalyptic weapons (modified butcher knives,
sledgehammers or chainsaws), long range weapons (crossbows, nail
guns) or fire guns (semiautomatic pistols, shotguns).
The next generation visuals propel the gamer into character and
set the scene for never seen before gladiator combat within a world
where there are no rules – survival is for the fittest and
the characters own stamina and fatigue is yet another element
hindering their survival.
“The Pit” has high replay ability with the inclusion
of multi characters, skills, weapons, and tactics and of course
game modes. The Multiplayer mode within the game allows up to 2-4
gamers to compete against each other both on and offline.
Over the coming months more information will be provided by LMG
on the up and coming release of “The Pit: Dog eat Dog”.

About Lace Mamba Global.
Jason Codd on the recent formation of the label:
“The formation of Lace Mamba Global is a massive step for
Mamba Games and we are delighted that this will give us the next
step needed to move into next generation and become a real player.
Lace Group are the largest DVD distributor in the UK and they have
masses of experience and a terrific team, this merger can only be
positive and we have been impressed by the visions they have for
the video games market. Bringing together the 2 teams to create a
large organization will allow us to fulfil our ambitions and we are
already planning our PS3 and X360 development strategy for 2011. We
will still be independent and look to work with studios of all
sizes but of course with the financial investment, we now have
substantial budgets to work with and we will be carefully selecting
the products that we feel will work in our schedule".
The two companies bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to
the table.
Mamba Games was set up by Robert Neilson in 2008 and since then
the team and the catalogue has grown substantially. However as
reliable and cost effective production, sales and distribution is
key for any company and more so for an independent publisher in the
current climate Mamba have now joined forces with Lace.
Lace Group, headed by Adam Lacey has a fully established
production and sales team based in the UK that work closely
alongside their sales partner Sony DADC so that Lace are able to
ensure a smooth process from delivery of assets through to
retail.
With every aspect now in house LMG are focused at establishing
themselves as a serious competitor in the games market-
globally.
Adam Lacey of Lace International explains why he thinks the
formula will work:
"We are independent, focused and very experienced in the market
place. Mamba brings a huge amount of ambition and expertise to the
table with an established network of global customers and sales and
distribution agreements in place. We intend to really shake up the
games market and become a very creative and dynamic force in the
games business over the coming months and years".
