Booyah Unveils MyTown 4.0, Available Now on the App Store

[This unedited press release is made available courtesy of Gamasutra and its partnership with notable game PR-related resource GamesPress.]

Booyah, developer and publisher of the successful location-based MyTown app, delves further into the intersection of the real world & the virtual world in the latest update: MyTown 4.0, available now for free exclusively on the iPhone and iPod touch.

To celebrate MyTown 4.0, the app has a fresh coat of paint and a unique new interface. In addition to the UI change, MyTown 4.0 boasts a host of new features, including the ability to create items at properties, a trading function between friends, Collectibles (now called Stamps) which have special abilities, and 10 brand new challenging levels. Check-ins will also recharge over time, and there are new powerful items which grant additional check-ins. Furthermore, players will enjoy unlimited check-ins when they reach level 70.

The brand new features in MyTown 4.0 include:

  • CREATING ITEMS *NEW*
o Properties are now like factories that can create items. Check out “Create Item” in the new property menu screen to see the new powerful items you can make

o Each location will now have a category, like “shopping, or dining,” and certain items will be created at specific category locations. This means more diversity, richer gameplay and breadth of experience for MyTown residents

  • TRADE SYSTEM *NEW*
o Looking for a particular item? Now you can check your friend’s inventory and request a trade for other items or cash. This also means you can trade multiple items at once.
  • LOCATION TIPS *NEW*
o Leave a comment on the properties you own. Let your friends know why these locations are your favorite.

o Curious about a location your friend owns? Ping your friend in-app and ask for a suggestion

o The new location tips feature allows you to parse information from sources you trust rather than sort anonymous postings

  • UPDATED INVENTORY *NEW*
o View your items organized by gameplay type for easier access. Same items now stack to help minimize your inventory.
  • CHECK-IN UPDATES *NEW*
o Players at max level now have unlimited check-ins. Continue checking in to your

favorite locations to find parts to create items. Check-ins also recharge over time for all players.
