Thursday, 15th July 2010: Gameshastra, India's
largest game services provider, is continuing its aggressive global
expansion by expanding its Japanese offering and announcing the
appointment of Mayank Mathur as their Business Development Manager
for Japan region.
Mayank will directly serve this part of Asia from Tokyo, which
will now benefit from a bespoke Gameshastra operation digitally
publishing fully-localised iPhone, iPod touch, PSN and WiiWare
titles to the Japanese market. In addition, Gameshastra will extend
its core game services offerings to publishers and developers in
the region.
Mayank Mathur is a games industry veteran with real Japanese
expertise. Graduating in Entertainment Software Development at
Sheffield Hallam University, he was selected by the British
Council, Commonwealth Business Council and IIM, Bangalore, to
participate in 'Creative Future India 2007'. He has worked with
Tata Elxsi's Gaming Division - VCL and been featured in Nikkei as a
young game developer and entrepreneur from India.
Mayank speaks and writes Japanese and is well versed with
Japanese business methodology. He has been following Eastern games,
comics and animation since his early years and his interest in
Japanese forms of storytelling and visual expression inspired him
to create partnerships between the Japanese and global gaming
industry.
"With facilities in Europe and now a dedicated Business
Development Manager for Japan supporting our operations in U.S. and
the headquarters in Hyderabad, India, we're able to fully service
the global games industry," says Prakash Ahuja, CEO, Gameshastra.
"Mayank is a vastly experienced gaming industry executive, with a
real passion for the Japanese industry, and we're confident he'll
help establish Gameshastra as one of the leading players within
Japan."
