In my continued study of Zynga, I have some work in draft on how the crossover promotions of each game keep players loyal to the brand, despite a proliferation of similar themed (sometimes better) games on Facebook... But before the serious stuff...

When Zynga gave a flat-out gift to VW players -- a cow that costs nothing, gives you game currency (blood -- resist the imagery...), and will give this to you free every 12 hours on the clock -- many players refused the gift. Why?

Facebook games have scared the hell out of the games industry because they go broad rather than deep. But they're a feeder to the established game companies, much in the same way games like Club Penguin is already.

Be sure to create a separate Google Profile to attach your G to. People have lost access to their youtube, picassa, reader, and other services that are attached to the profile when Google has had issues with their naming conventions or content under G TOS.
