Hello Everyone,
Today I'm following up on my experience about trying to gain visibility for my latest FREE game (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gamayun.HTSR ) on googlePlay and trying to make a decent revenue from it.
Thi is the sequel to my last blog entry.
And as I promised the numbers, here they are...
I aimed for 2 million downloads... But in one month, I managed to have only 735 downloads of my game... As I stated there are 400 million devices out there and I succeded in reaching less than 0.0002 percent of them...
So where did I fail ? THRU VISIBILITY missed...
Here is a recap of my efforts :
So Google says its Googleplay market is "Built for app discovery" and insists on:
1) "User ratings and reviews" Only 25 ratings but a very good average of 4,32.. which isn't suffucient of course...
2) "Category browsing" ok so my game is in "Racing Game" genre so no mistake here...
3) "Search" When I try to search even the name of my game "Heavy Truck Speed Racing" I can find it only at the 31th position... How come?
4) "Top charts and lists" I »m no where to be found here...
5) "Featured, Staff Picks, Collections, and Badges" Ok definitely not for me unless I get picked by luck... which is probably going to happen as much as winning lottery... let's continue...
6) "Rich, colorful product pages" .. Err OK I'm not probably doing a very good job here
7)... Oh no... no seven!
So in conclusion, I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CLIMB INTO THE CHARTS... and I failed miserably... but as someone said « If you have to fail, fail fast ! »
So stay tuned for the release of my next game « Haunted Mine Adventure »...
