Kevin Gallant's Blog


Kevin Gallant, gadget MDA,  is a game instructor and professional engineer. Kevin Gallant received his Bachelor of Science degree in  Engineering from the University of New Brunswick specializing in 3D Generative Design. Kevin Gallant currently  teaches Level Design and Enhanced 3D Concept courses for a technology program called Electronic Gaming.  This Applied Arts program is one of the longest running game programs in North America with 18 years of student output.

As industry lead for internships, partnerships and toolkits, Kevin researches new game support tools and visual scripting engines. Kevin interests include vehicle dynamics, intelligent character integrations, and terrain destruction.  Kevin likes to perform destructive testing using Unity, Unreal UDKs and Crytek Game Engines.  His passion is to integrate integrate and integrate everything smoothly within a defined software pipeline. A little bit of mocap data with biped sets his performance-based vehicle and character animations which tell the story. Kevin has mentored over 50 student teams and build game entrepreneurs is his ambition.

There are a number of criteria for a FPS. Here is a nice list for all those game engines out there. Lighting and particle effects are top of my list.
