Matt Hughson's Blog
Matt Hughson is a Game Programmer working out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He's been doing it for about 10 years now, and over that time has had the chance to work on some amazing projects!
Professional Work History
Matt helped develop the online lobby systems used across almost every EA Sports title. He helped architect and create the Flash frontend systems used by Radical Entertainment on multiple shipped titles (and a few cancelled ones). Matt also lead both the Frontend and Mission programmers on Prototype 1 and 2 respectively. In 2012 Matt left Radical Entertainment to help form a new studio in Vancouver: Digital Scapes. Funded by Techland, the studio behind Dead Island, they developed a special PVP game mode for the game Dying Light, set to ship sometime in 2014. Currently Matt works for Microsoft at Blacktusk Studios in Vancouver.
In his spare time, Matt programs even more! While his professional work allows him to work on massive, multi-million dollar game projects, he has a passion for making small 2D games as well. These smaller projects allow him to take the role of Designer and Technical Director. Most of these projects are open source, and can be viewed online by anyone interested.
