More: Console/PC

Sony Japan has revealed the Japanese-specific list of PSone titles available for emulation on the PSP by using the PlayStation 3's download capabilities, as well as new information on the console’s free online services.

An information page on the company’s Japanese website, as translated by consumer website GameSpot and others, lists free services provided by the console including a block-able friends list and an e-mail style message storage box for text and other file attachments.

Also mentioned is free voice and video chat and online gaming features including a matching service, lobbies, scoreboards and the previously demonstrated online shop. The online store will allow for the download of both free and paid-for demos and games, video files and extra game content - much in the style of Xbox Live Marketplace.

An initial list of PSone titles destined for the PSP (and later playable on the PS3, though there is no official ETA for this) were also given - with a promise of ten new titles per month for what the company has dubbed its Game Archives service.

The full list of initially available PS1 titles in Japan as follows:

Resident Evil: Director's Cut (Capcom)
Konami Antiques MSX Collection Vol. 1 (Konami)
Konami Antiques MSX Collection Vol. 2 (Konami)
Bishi Bashi Special (Konami)
Arc the Lad (Sony)
Jumping Flash! (Sony)
Hot Shots Golf 2 (aka Everybody's Golf 2)(Sony)
Silent Bomber (Namco Bandai)
Tekken 2 (Namco Bandai)
Mr Driller (Namco Bandai)

It's believed that at least some of these games may be Japan-exclusive (pending a similar announcement from SCEA), since the PlayStation 3 online demonstration at last week's Gamer's Day in San Francisco showed a variety of other Western-created PS1 games in the example menus, including Warhawk, Syphon Filter and Medievil.
